bionaturæ®'s foods are grown on small family farms in Italy much as they were a hundred years ago. All of our foods are organically grown without synthetic pesticides, herbicides, fungicides or fertilizers. They are certified organic by BioAgriCert scrl, which is accredited by the U.S. National Organic Program.

Our family farmers are dedicated to employing safe, labor-intensive methods of cultivating the land. Soils are fertilized using natural, balanced compost. Pests and weeds are controlled by a variety of non-toxic means. For example, our olives are grown at higher altitudes where the olive fly cannot survive, minimizing the pests to control.

Small, organic farms give us clean, wholesome and better tasting foods while helping preserve our water, soil and air. Organic foods often cost more, but allow you to make an investment in the environment and your family's health.

GMO Is Not An Old World Practice

Genetically modified foods are foods produced from entirely new varieties of plants. The seeds have been altered genetically by transferring or joining genes between unrelated species. There are rising concerns among scientists, and consumers around the world, regarding the side effects of this practice. What was once thought to be a "miracle of science" now appears to be a risky compromise.

Europe considers the practice of genetic engineering a serious health hazard. The European Union countries and Australia have passed legislation requiring these foods be labeled.

All bionaturæ® products are produced in Italy, using raw materials cultivated in Italy. All products are certified organic under European Union Regulation 2092/91. A subsequent addendum, n. 1804/1999 from July 19,1999, states in Paragraph 10 that Genetically Modified Organisms and all other ingredients derived from them are not permitted in certified organic products.
